Eligibility :
1) Age: upto 65 years.
2) M. A. in any of the Social
Sciences and Ph. D. in Economics / History / Sociology / Political Science /
Philosophy / Psychology / Prakrit / Sanskrit.
Areas of Specialization :
1) Research in Jain Religion,
philosophy, culture, architectures, Jain scientific literature.
2) Institutional research.
3) Review of world literature
pertaining to Jain religion.
4) Research regarding comparative
study of changing socio economic and political dimensions of Jain community.
Desirable Qualification :
1) Person with research
publications, books (both in English and Marathi) / edited volumes and
textbooks will be given preference.
2) The applicant’s professional
achievements will be given favorable consideration.
3) The applicant must be
conversant with Interdisciplinary approach and must have earlier work done in
the form of publications / conference / seminars in the field of Jainology.
Emoluments :
1) The emoluments for the post
will be Rs. 40000/- per month fixed.
2) Necessary Secretarial
Assistance will be provided.
3) The applications should be
submitted to the undersigned within 30 days from the date of publication of
this advertisement.
E) Nature of appointment: The
total tenure of the post is three years. The initial tenure of the incumbent of
the chair professor is one year. Subsequently it may extended for two more
years depending on academic performance.
F) Duties and Responsibility :
The duties and responsibilities will be as per Shivaji University Statutes and
as per Mahaveer Chair in Jainology.
INSTRUCTIONS :
1) Employed candidates must
submit their applications through proper channel.
2) The candidate must submit
declaration in prescribed Form – A, along with the application form as per rule
4 of having small family as per the directives issued by Government of
Maharashtra. Form – A is available with the application form.
3) University reserves the right
to fill or not to fill any or all the post advertised.
4) The prescribed online
application forms are available on the university website www.unishivaji.ac.in
under the tab “http://www.unishivaji.ac.in/recruitments/AtUniversity” which
have to fill online and print-out on A4 size papers, in 06 copies with
necessary attested documents and Receipt of Online Payment of Rs. 300/- should
accompany the application form. Application form other than online form and forms
without Cash Receipt of Online payment will not be considered for further
process of recruitment.
5) Final printout of online
application form alongwith the attested copies of relevant documents enclosed
to each copy of the application should be sent to the Registrar, Shivaji
University, Vidyanagar, Kolhapur – 416 004 so as to reach on or before dt.
16/10/2021. Envelope containing duly filled application form should be
superscript with “Name of the Post applied: -----------.”
6) Incomplete application or
application on plain paper or Xerox copies of prescribed application form or
application other than web based online method will not be entertained.
7) Applications received after
the last date will not be considered. The University will not be responsible
for postal delay, if any.
